Have you found a way to use the Magic Pad to move the puck ?
This would be the best way indeed !

I wish MOTU would add an X and Y MIDI solution to that joystick one !!!!!!

I find it works if I position the pointer over the puck, then double-click and hold.

Maybe it's the way I have the trackpad set up - I don't use it much to be honest, I generally prefer the Magic Mouse, but this is great.

best solution yet!

No. I bought it almost the same day that DP8 arrived.
Decided, having just invested in upgrading my RAM (32Gb), to make the jump to 64bit right then and there.
I thought Hear was 64 bit, alas, it is not.
I don't want to go back and forth between 32-64bit, so I will have to wait until they finish updating to 64 bit. I wrote them, they kindly got back to me, saying "...soon...".
I have installed Hear demo and I cannot find the way to send 5.1 busses to its input to test it

I've given up trying with HEar for the moment - very frustrating.

I can't get the AU version to validate in DP8 (32) without crashing.

I can load the bridged VST version in DP (64) but cannot set the inputs to anything but stereo. Hmmm.

I recently used it in DP 7.24, and it worked fine. I could set the inputs to 5.1, but it would not allow me to output to stereo - only a surround bundle, so I had to create a stereo buss with the same LR outputs as a surround buss in order to record a stereo file. I can't remember how that worked in the past - maybe it was the same - I haven't used it much. (I suppose in order to bypass the plugin it still needs to be routed through to a surround bundle......)

Anyway it was quite good! It doesn't seem to give much of an impression of a front channel, but the illusion of the surround channels is quite convincing. I don't know how it seems for music, but I have used it on some ambient sound fields for some experimental/presentation work, for which it was most successful.

Let's hope they get this updated soon - it's always been problematic and caused potential conflicts.

Cheers!

If you have managed to get it to load, try setting the outputs to a surround bundle first, and see if that permits a surround input.

Cheers

Hello Stephen,
I am still using 7.24 because my plan is to buy the next 27 inch iMac as soon as it is available.
Now, I can load Hear and I have created a surround track (5.1).
But, I do see only stereo input .......

Load your surround audio file - create a surround buss in Bundles for this channel - then create an aux channel - insert HEar - set this aux channel to your surround output - then see if the surround buss shows up on the input -

See if that helps

Hey Stephen , I am trying to use my Magic pad again to control my puck in surround and something is buggy!!!! Sometimes I got the puck to follow my finger and I cannot get it back to follow it all the time .
Any clue to help me ?
