Hey All,

Can anyone tell me- or recommend a section of the DP or Mach 5 manual- about how to produce what I can only describe as the fast, syncopated dropping-out (silencing) of a track or groups of tracks? I've heard this technique for years and have never known the musical term for it, or how to accomplish it. You hear it a lot in dubstep music.

Anyone know what I'm trying to describe here? If so, how is that accomplished?

I usually bounce things to audio files (soundbites) and chop it up in whatever which way you want to. Hack into it, repeat it. Don't know if you'll find a specific chapter on it. It's really just editing i think or the use of a plug-in like the afore mentioned stutter edit which does many a wicked thing to your audio.

+1 Also Camel Audio's Camel Space is good for that kinda thing as it includes filters and so on.
