Plug in will not let me save preset

I purchased a 3rd party plug in (UBK--1). I found it's preset folder and everything appears to be normal but for some reason it will not let me save my own presets. It says: Access Denied. Insufficient access privileges for the operation. (-5000)

Does anyone know why this won't let me save my own presets?

Thank you

Most likely it's just a permissions problem. Go to the Kush Audio folder (Library/Audio/Presets/Kush Audio) and in the Get Info window, unlock it and set its permissions to Read and Write and select "apply to enclosed items" from the little gear looking thingy. That might fix it.

I love that plug-in and it saves presets fine here.

That was it!! Thanks. Now all I have to do is try to remember this next time I see that error message.

Normally when you get this, the file was copied from somewhere else. To help find and solve a tech support issue, I am running the same test file on more than one 'puter. Every time I copy it from my iMac to my G4 - or back again via Drop Box, I go through this. Same when I copy a Word .doc instead of emailing it.

Programs installed via an installer shouldn't give you this grief but it sometimes happens.

That would make sense. I recall having the problem before with a bunch of files when I first migrated everything from my old computer to this newer one, I didn't make the connection at all. Thanks.

I've tried going to "get info" on the MW EQ folder and making sure all is "read and write" and then "apply to enclosed items" but I still get error -43 when trying to save a preset. Is there anything else I should try??
Thanks, Mike

I used to have this problem with Ozone 4. My solution was a bit more complex (and, as I can see from this thread, probably unnecessary!): I would jot down the parameters of the plug I had set up in DP, close DP, open Wave Editor, open an instance of Ozone 4, replicate those parameters and save it from there as preset with no problem. Of course, in the case of Ozone 4, it was likely that I was using the MAS version in DP and having issues based on that; the AU version I'd loaded in Wave Editor didn't seem to have that glitch.

So I should get an AU version of MW EQ and see if that will work? Not sure where to find that.?

Not sure if that's necessarily your problem, in this case, but: http://www.motu.com/products/software/mwc

Yikes, really? I'm sure there would have to be a 64-bit version in the near future. But like I said, I don't even know if that's the actual problem, it's just the one I experienced. MAS can be a fickle mistress.

I have DP 7.24, so my MW eq came with the update from DP 5.
Not sure what to do, maybe tech support call. I hope they don't say to reinstall everything:( if anyone else has any more ideas, I would appreciate it!
Thanks,
Mike
