828ES on Thunderbolt, Ext. HD on USB3?

Post by mustech »

Hey there. Is it important to keep seperate the connection for my external HD and my audio i/o device? I'm putting together a configuration based around a 2017 iMac and need to know what direction to go for external HD. I'm looking at using an 828es for i/o duties.

I don't know if it is essential, as TB has plenty of bandwidth, but it is a good practice.

I really like my 828es; I am running it off of USB (my Mac is pre-TB), and it works and sounds great.
