I've switched to my newer MBP with thunderbolt ports and just received a new 828x. I won't have time to mess with it this weekend so I wanted to take an opportunity to get any feedback from others who have made this transition.
Looking at the MOTU download page it looks like the driver files/programs are the same so I wouldn't expect a lot of trouble but would it be best to remove the old 828mk3 first? I suspect either way I'll need to go into my DP file and redirect audio output. If you've done this I'd thank you for any advice or experience that might be helpful.

Since the X uses CueMix, like the mkIII, you may find it is a simple Plug n' Play. If not, DP's Bundles window is what you'll need to explore.
