This morning I got a firmware notification for my 1248. I selected it and started the update process. However, I kept getting a "connect ethernet cable" message (it was already connected). Then I thought I'd download the update from MOTU. However, nothing is happening and I'm stuck in update mode.
Can I just turn off and start over? I'm afraid I'm going to do harm to the unit.
I'm using a 2010 Mac Pro, modified with a new 12 core processor.

My 8M was slow to update, but did eventually update (connected just with an ethernet cable). Are there any useful messages on the front of the unit? I know that unplugging during an update can really screw things up, so I'd treat that as a really last ditch move.
