Audio Stopped and Meters Frozen

I am having a new problem with audio stopping and my 16a interface meters freezing. I have been using this setup for a while and I suspect a problem with the Ableton session OR an issue with the audio driver. Has anyone else experienced meters freezing on their interface? I am running Ableton 9.7 on El Capitan 10.11.5. The 16a has had the latest firmware installed.
