Firewire Adapter to USB?

Post by lynnpatrick »

Hi,

I have a MOTU Ultralite 10 x 14 Firewire.
Because I now have a MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, to use my MOTU I have to get an adapter fire wire to USB or whatever works with this computer. Any ideas?
Thank you!
Lynn

There is none that works as far as I know.

Time to get a Hybrid and sell the old one.

Yes, if your MBP has Thunderbolt, get the Apple TB-FW adapter.

You will not be able to use bus power. TB's 7V spec doesn't become the 22V that a FW bus powered device needs on the other side of the adapter. If you don't have the external power supply, you will need one.
