10.10.5 here as well.

Not exactly loving it. Since 10.6.8, each OS has been some mixture of taking the good with the bad. For the all their concentration on new features, some apps (iCal, Mail, Preview, Safari, etc.) get messed up or workflows get unnecessarily cumbersome. Now I'm so reluctant to update until I know just what kind of hassles I'm signing up for. And there's MUCH less confidence that Apple will ever fix things-- why would they? when a new OS is only ever months away.
M1 MBP; OS 12, FF800, DP 11.3, Kontakt 7, Reaktor 6, PC3K7, K2661S, iPad6, Godin XTSA, Two Ibanez 5 string basses (1 fretted, 1 fretless), FM3, SY-1000, etc.

Same here. I feel there is space for a very stripped down system version that could be installed for a DAW only computer that would certainly make things way more efficient. I should think the studio computer should be rid of all the externalities. Just the barebones needed to run a killer solid Production DAW station.

10.11.6 and I'm staying there indefinitely for my Mac Pro.

It's a heavily modded 2009:
new 3.33ghz 12 core chips,

internal AHCI main 512GB m.2 SSD,
NVME 512GB SM951 m.2 that only works with a third party "generic" NVME driver someone coded for fun. Apples NVME driver only works for authorized (sold by them) m.2 cards.

Sonnet PCIe USB3 card

Taking the chance that the NVME drive made by someone on a forum stops working in Sierra on my 09 mac pro that doesn't meet Apples "recommendations" or the USB3 stops working, just for the ability to have iOS content? not a chance in hell.
M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.

10.11.6 and I still keep 10.6.8 around for Rosetta. Not itching to go any further at this point, but I may when the coast is completely clear.

10.11.6 and very happy with it.

Best OS X since 10.6.8 for me. In fact, I still have 2 systems in my workshop on 10.6.8 because it's so trouble free.

Hehe, now I feel older than .... I am :D
10.7.5 here, but only because Behringer ( Midas ) devs said, more than 16 ch USB recording
can't be done reliably in 10.6.8 ( core audio ? )
Is 10.6.8 really that bad re : USB ? Or could this be related to USB hardware in older Macs ?
Anybody - MotU ? - can confirm this ?
Editing / mixing in the studio - USB playback - on a Mac Mini 4,1 - 10.6.8.
with no problems

Best regards from Switzerland

Yes, older versions of OS X had difficulty when developers tried to use USB polling rates higher than 125hz. It could cause jitter in the polling routine that is very difficult to get around. This was noticeable with some USB interfaces, and very obvious with certain 'gaming mice' that would have very poor response with >125hz settings. Certain medical devices also behaved very poorly as well due to this.

Later versions of OS X behave much better with higher polling rate devices. It's basically not an issue anymore.

Thanks a lot Robert !
I have since not had any samples dropped with 10.7.5...
but sometimes the SSD ( EVO Pro Samsung ) via USB mini plug ( USB powered ) doesn't mount stable...

Best
