828x no sound from monitor speakers

I'm using 828x with Logic Pro X and a basic set up - stereo output = main out, phones work fine but speakers don't give me any sound. I've used the speakers before with the same set up and they worked OK, also tested them with another source. Can anyone wise tell me what I might be doing wrong here?
