Traveler connected through PCI Express extender not detected

Post by amundsen »

Hello,

I have a PCI-ExpressCard extender with two FireWire 400 ports plugged into a MacBook Pro. It works flawlessly with My Traveler MKI on MacOS X 10.8.5.

However the Traveler cannot be detected if I plug it to the computer when the latter has been switched on already. Is there any way to force this detection without having to restart the computer?

Thank you in advance.

Not that I know. I'm pretty certain that such peripherals, like eSATA, must be on before you start your Mac.

Too bad...

Strange in a "plug-and-play" era.
