Yosemite 10.10.5 and Micro Lite

Post by jonbongjovi »

Hi Guys,

I've got a macbook pro running Yosemite 10.10.5 with a MicroLite plugged into the USB port.

I'm getting some issues with it passing MIDI thru to Ableton.

The microlite is showing in ableton and MIDI out sometimes works ok, sometimes behaves strangly with stuck notes.

With using ext MIDI controller into the interface the correct port light flashes but it doesnt seem to pass it through to the macbook.

I've installed the latest drivers. The microlight isnt showing in the OSX MIDI devices which is odd.

Any ideas for troubleshooting?

Cheers,

Jon

A lot of the time random stuck notes/dropped notes/connectivity problems can be attributed to a bad USB cable - I'd start there by swapping out the cable. If you're connecting through a USB hub, connect directly to your computer's USB port to eliminate that.

From there, open up Audio MIDI Setup and check that the Microlite is visible in the MIDI Devices window - if not, rescan devices, and then open up Ableton.
