8pre USB and El Capitan and 88.2/96kHz

Post by clausiii »

Hi!

Can anyone confirm that the 8pre USB does not work at higher sample rates (88.2/96kHz) on El Capitan? ProTools 12.3.1 does not start or gets extremely buggy. Audio/MIDI Setup as well having problems, so i assume every DAW will react buggy.
At 44.1/48kHz everything seems to work.

Probably best to ask MOTU via a TechLink at motu.com

I've posted another thread in this forum you may see that seems to be the same issue except with 828k3 Hybrid. I've had a long back and forth with Motu tech and they haven't been able to give me answers. I done as much troubleshooting as possible. Fresh clean installs of Yosemite(nope), El Capitan(nope, amongst a few other things in DP) and installed Windows 10(88.2/96k works fine) .... so yeah, I think the driver has a bug, perhaps for only certain machines. I'm on the newest top of line Macbook Pro 15" with the AMD card.
