828x Hot Plug / Mac sleeping problems

Post by PianoJD »

Hi,

Having some problems with a new 828x and wondered if anyone else had similar issues.

I have an older 828Mk3 Hybrid which I've been able to plug in and use while the Mac is already on and it works. However with the 828x I've just purchased if I plug it into the Mac which is already running it appears to connect in Mac settings but the audio doesn't work. It's. It does stop audio coming from the macs built in speakers though so it's obviously recognising it's there in some way.

I also have the problem that if I leave the 828x connected & switched on (or switched off actually) and let the Mac sleep, when it wakes up I get the same connection issue.

The only way I can seem to get it reliably working every time is to shut down the Mac completely everytime. Then connect the 828x and power on before the Mac.

This is getting a bit tedious - especially knowing my older Mk3 didn't have this problem.

Anybody have any thoughts/fix for this???

Using USB as I'm using the one TB bolt on my old MacBook Pro for a drive. Running on Yosemite.

Was hoping to be running the 828x with a new MBP with 2 TB ports but UPS lost it so I'm waiting for Apple to send out a replacement!
