I'm using Live 9.5 with current model 13" macbook pro, and i got a MIDI Express XT to use both with Live and as a standalone patch bay with a MPC1k. When I am using Live as my sequencer it will work fine for a while then (at seemly random times) all the lights on the MIDI OUT side go dead and it just stops sending data to all the MIDI devices hooked up to it. Sometimes some staggered notes will trigger or ill get hung notes, but mostly it just goes dead. Lots of times i have to power cycle it or unplug/replug the USB cable to get it working again.
I'm using the beta drivers on El Capitan. Is anyone else experiencing buggy behavior with these drivers or should i investigate something else here?

Re: MIDI Express XT stops sending to ports
Do you have the latest Beta 4 released November 4th? If not, try them first.

Since the drivers are still in beta, best to contact MOTU via a Tech Link and see what they have to say.
Beta 4 is working for me but I notice that they haven't been finalized so some situations must be problematic I'm guessing.

Did you ever solve this? I'm having the same problem on Yosemite.slee wrote:I'm using Live 9.5 with current model 13" macbook pro, and i got a MIDI Express XT to use both with Live and as a standalone patch bay with a MPC1k.
