Getting Motu error code 4 for firewiredevicelmpl.cpp

Post by brenny »

Hello!

I receive this error code in Logic when trying to work with Motu Traveller:

Error code 4 in file firewiredevicelmpl.cpp line 399 called from file I_fwaudio.cpp line 2188

My system is:
Macos X 10.10.5
MacPro early 2008
2x2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon
6GB DDR2 800mhz Fb-dimm
Startup disk: MacPro SSD
Ati Radeon HD 5770 1024mb

Audio Device concerned:
MOTU TRAVELER 192 SERIAL NUMBER: TRAV000435

Can you please let me know how to overcome this problem? I cannot use the device this way, I am getting broken signal while trying to record or capture.

Thanks a lot! Waiting for a solution!

Usually Error 4 means that something cannot connect. Sometimes, it means a corrupt file or driver. I have heard of it being a permissions issue, too.

Logic is not giving you this error. The OS is.

My first thought is to make certain that your FW connections are tight. Next, I would make certain that you have the latest driver installed. Repair permissions.

If neither of those do it, time to post a Tech Link with MOTU support.
