Firewire to thunderbolt Adapter

Post by pepe44 »

Hi, I work with an iMac late 2013 and I was wondering if is it possible to use an adapter ( firewire to thunderbolt) with my MOTU Ultra MK3 Hybrid ? Will it work ok ? Anyone using this setup? Right now i am using 2.0 but i feel that with all the USB devices connected do my computer the interface sometimes gets a bit "Voltage crazy".

Thanks

Yes. I use several to connect a variety of FW devices to my 2013 trash can and the work great. The one thing I have learned is that if there is a power supply for the device, use it. Don't stress the FW port with power requests. That has solved a few audio issues for me (popping, crackling, etc).
