How to set the MIDI transmission speed to 1MHz? (MOTU 828x)

Post by Frythmics »

I am upgrading the OS in my Studio Electronics synth.

The instruction says:
Set your MIDI interface to 1MHz (this has nothing to do with “tempo,” which is preset), or whatever your slowest transmission speed is; if you do not you will damage your Flash-ROM chip irreparably.

So how I can set the MIDI transmission speed to 1MHz on MOTU 828x?
(I can't find the info in the manual)

1 MHz is the standard rate in the MIDI spec. I didn't know it was common to run MIDI at any other rate. I've had a load of MIDI stuff over the years, and none of it had a means of changing this.

it used to be in DP long ago- not sure if it still does? on hardware it was part of GM protocol - or was it? It might have been in AM - audio/MIDI setup.
