MOTU 896mk3 Hybrid Audio output problem

Hey, i've googled this unbelievably hard and i can't find anything so i thought you guys might be able to help...

I've got a MOTU896mk3 Hybrid connected to a mac via USB (i've checked the cable).

I'm getting no audio output from logic, although it lets me select that as the output interface, and tracks along as if it were playing.

If i try and play anything from iTunes however, it just stops at 0 seconds. Also, weirdly, youtube videos won't even start playing either, but will if the interface is not set as the output...

Any ideas?
