MOTU 8pre no longer found once Yosemite insalled

Post by pathdoc »

Hey everyone,
I've been using my MacBookPro with my 8pre for years. Recently the laptop developed issues and needed a new hard drive. Yosemite was installed by the computer technician. Now when I plug in my MOTU 8pre it's no longer recognized by the MacBookPro. I know the firewire port is working because my Glyph hard drive is also connected via the same firewire port. My laptop has a port that looks like a Thunderbolt port but I believe that's a video out (I used it as such in the past). Any thoughts how I can get my laptop with Yosemite to recognize my 8Pre?
Thanks

Download the latest drivers.

An 8pre (1st version) must be connected to a FW port. I'm remembering that it's the one interface that cannot work through the TB-FW adapter.
