I've run DP4.6 on a Mac G4 for many, many years. No virtual instruments, few plugins, high latency, etc. etc.
I have acquired a Mac Pro 1,1 (4-core 2.66Ghz, 3GB RAM) and am ready to update DP. Which version (7, 8 or 9) would you experienced folks recommend starting on? I can always install up to DP9 at my leisure.
I'm aware that I need a PCIe card. Got it, thanks! Anything I missed?

Re: Back in the Saddle
Firstly, welcome to the forum, eschertron!
I'd go for 9 straight away; there's no point in "working up to it". Having not run VIs myself either, the fact that 9 includes MX4 could be an added incentive for you.
Hang on... I just realised that you asked the experienced folks here the question and I've been celibate for 24 years. Sorry!
Epic fail.

Three weeks ago, you could have upgraded to 8. But now, is it possible to upgrade to 7 or 8 now that 9 is the current release?

Re: Back in the Saddle
I'm pretty sure you can get access to legacy releases. I'd go with DP8 until the DP9 bugs a squashed.

Maybe so -- my registrations say I can update AudioDesk 3 to DP 7, 8, or 9.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:I'm pretty sure you can get access to legacy releases. I'd go with DP8 until the DP9 bugs a squashed.

If you registered 4.6, you should be able to get the current upgrade price, yes?
