MOTU flate rate ?

Post by fokof »

You guys know if it's still a flate rate when we send a unit for repair ?

My Traveler died, CPU doesn't see the Traveler , cuemix FX still works , probably the FW connector on the unit.

You have to contact tech support before you send it to MOTU, so you may as well call them and ask the question.

Dare I ask what a "flate rate" is?

I know. I'm just a punk with toilet water behind his ears.

The opposite of lumpy. Mr Fokof (an elegant handle) wants to know if MOTU will do the exchange/repair for the straight $100.

Aah... thank you, Stoivo.

In my ignorance I figured that since the term appeared in both the thread's title and the post itself, it must've, as Letterman might've put it in that silly game played on the show for a while, been somethin'.

If you're going to bring Letterman into it, then it must be pointed out that flate means "inflatable date". But I don't think he meant that.

I've sent my old 828 mk2 for repair , got a brand new one for 90$ , was wondering if that is still the policy @ MOTU.

Heard from the store that it isn't true anymore but wanted to have second opinions.

Why bother with an opinion? Contact MOTU tech support and get the facts.

They are not exactly renown for the rapidity with "tech links" answers
Still waiting for an answer........

Phone. You have to contact them anyway to arrange the return. You can't just send it.

Yes, they still do flat rate exchanges. Just call them. It's quick, cheap, and easy. I recently exchanged my busted Motu 828Mk3 for a refurbished one for a flat rate. I can't remember if it was $75 or $90.

Good news, Doug. Thank you for that on behalf of the Fokster.

Dang. Could be a cure for my celibacy.

It'd save me on fancy dinners too, big-time. I mean, I could take "her" to the 'straunt, pour a cheap glass of wine on her and offer to quickly take her home for a change of wig or bra or something. I'd have a bunch of bananas sittin' on the kitchen bench and once she saw it she'd agree when I suggest there's no longer a valid reason to return to said venue, especially as she'd run the risk of copping another cheap glass down her front.

Brilliant. I can't thank you enough, Stoivo. It's a $10 night out with a happy ending.

Thank for the (simple) answer.
