Motu 8 pre USB - guitar and synth recording

Post by AlexB »

Hi,

I am planning to buy The Motu 8 pre as my main interface.
I am planning to record vocals and drums with microphones ( i don't expect any issue on that) but also guitar and synth recording.
-Are the TRS inputs suitable for Guitar recording?
-Are the TRS inputs suitable for synth recording (I would expect line in level)?

According to Motu's manual seems ok but I would appreciate if anyone that has this interface can confirm me that they had good results on guitars and synth recording.

Thanks for your kind support!

According to the manual, it is ok. The impedance specs out ok. there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

The caveat with me is that I no longer play guitar, bass or a keyboard that isn't usb MIDI based. Neither do I own an 8 pre. OTOH, when I played, my 828mkII worked great - still would if I did any of those things, no doubt.
