turn off 2408 MK3 while computer is on?

Post by smashprod »

I have three 2408 MK3 interfaces (2 on my master computer, 1 on my slave). They tend to squeal when I shut down my computers. Anything wrong with turning off the interfaces before shutting down? I'm running Mavericks on two 8-core Mac Pros.

No problem with turning the devices on or off while connected.

Thanks - they never get physically unplugged, so no danger there. Just wondering if the PCI card has any vulnerability to spikes etc. if the interface(s) is(are) turned off or on while the card(s) is(are) active (grammar police).

I'd be more concerned about your speakers. My interfaces thump pretty loudly when turned off. I have my speakers on a seperate power strip so I can turn them on after the interfaces, and turn them off before I power down.
