Using MOTU 8m / Logic Pro X / Lync together?

Post by ums »

Hi all,
I am building out a small vocal studio for doing interviews that is also capable of recording phone calls so I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate Lync and FaceTime into the process efficiently. If anyone has any experience and an explanation on how to do this I would appreciate it.

My gear and current configuration/routing:
* 4x mics going into a UAD A/D amp/converter
* UAD going optical ADAT into the MOTU 8M
* MOTU going via thunderbolt into Logic Pro X on a Mac (OS 10.10.3)
* Using Lync and FaceTime for phone calls
— All apps and firmware are up-to-date. FaceTime and Lync both work as standalone communication apps.
— right now I am able to record the phone conversation (the person on the other end only) using Audio Hijack, and I can record all 4 of my mics in Logic (I can later mix the two sources together). But I can only route one mic to be heard by the person on the phone by directly routing it to the Analog 1 Out in the AVB routing board. I am hoping there is a routing config that allows the person on the phone to hear all 4 mics. Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Craig
