Speaker outputs

Post by 25James77 »

Hi there. I used to have a MOTU 828 - which I could plug my speakers into using a jack. But I've just bought an 828x and there are no outputs for jacks... have I got to buy new wires? Help!

You can use the MOTU Audio Setup application to define a pair of Analog Outs as your main output for monitoring purposes, and connect those physical outputs to your speakers. But I'd get the proper connections and use the XLRs and Main Outs as described in the manual.

Thanks for your reply. I'll get some new wires then!

So I should ask for jack to XLR, is that right?

Yes. If you go to the Sweetwater site (advertised at the top of the page you're looking at -- click there), they have an easy to use cables helper. You select what you want on each end of a cable and they list all the stuff they have that matches.
