I'm having the same problem! With the latest driver. Do we have a workaround yet?!!!

Ok, so the USB2 hub trick worked for me.
I'm using a 4 input USB 2.0 hub called Zinc, by Cnmemory. This to be exact: http://www.cnmemory.de/en/zinc-hub-usb-20.
It's a powered hub but I'm not using the power. It seems to work just fine passive. And I'm only using 1 of its inputs... I have no idea if that matters or not. This is the Express 128 with a Mac running 10.8.
The issue is definitely gone. I couldn't go 15 seconds without getting those stupid hanging notes and I've gone several minutes now with the hub.
