Apple's disdain of Flash player is well known (how well does Flash work in iOS? Trick question: Apple doesn't allow it to work in iOS).

BTW, I don't have the problems that you describe. If it were an issue caused by Mavericks, I would.

Here is one of many support threads on Flash and Macs.

Obviously, Adobe tests Flash on Mavericks, and it surely works on a fresh install, as well as in enough other common configurations. It has to be Mavericks + Flash + unknown, which would be something on my system but not on yours. With thousands of possible variables, who knows?

Right. Well the Flash/iOS situation is well known and most of us remember Steve Jobs' scathing open letter about Flash support in iOS.

Ahh... you're right and I stand corrected. I forget that I have this issue on my MacPro 1,1 which has to run Lion 10.7.5 which is highest version of Mac OS it can run short of taking extreme measures. There's a Flash/Lion issue that I have seen others mention on the forum and you need to downgrade.

to the original poster, did you ever get it working? I made the mistake of upgrading my only machine without even thinking about it. audio express is nowhere to be found. MIDI works through it. i'm at a loss! need it for a gig next week, naturally! any guidance would be most appreciated.

It's almost smooth sailing on Yosemite with MOTU drivers v1.6.64254 (October 17) and my Traveler. Everything that I've tested works, except that I still have a rare occasional audio glitch in playback that can occur in any app, which I also had back in Mavericks. This is on a clean install of Yosemite, so there's no cruft and there are no unusual drivers to blame (and obviously, since it also happened in Mavericks, we can't blame Yosemite).

Hi,

Interesting to read this, I had the audio dropout issue with my MK1 Traveler & Mavericks (see this thread http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... =4&t=57199) I never did get to the bottom of it. I did a clean install of Yosemite on a separate partition of the weekend, and so far it is much improved. Watched a few hours of DVDs last night without a single audio dropout, where as in Mavericks I would get 2-3 an hour. Never had this issue on Mountain Lion.

Currently I have all three installed on separate partitions on my machine, but I think I am going to stay with Yosemite as my main OS, much to my surprise I like the new GUI, much easier on my eyes, it seems to be handling memory better and overall feels better than Mavericks. Of course early days yet, but so far no issues with DP.

Each time the system has an audio dropout, I see a stream of these messages in the log:

Code: Select all

Oct 29 21:31:24 kernel: IOAudioStream[0xffffff8032704800]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 2 clip more than one buffer ahead errors.
Oct 29 21:31:24 kernel: IOAudioStream[0xffffff803270c000]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 2 clip more than one buffer ahead errors.
Oct 29 21:31:24 kernel: IOAudioStream[0xffffff80326f2000]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 2 clip more than one buffer ahead errors.
Oct 29 21:31:24 kernel: IOAudioStream[0xffffff80326fb400]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 2 clip more than one buffer ahead errors.
Oct 29 21:31:24 kernel: IOAudioStream[0xffffff8032700c00]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: counted 2 clip more than one buffer ahead errors.
Needless to say, this message isn't terribly helpful. :shake:

I'm not so certain about that. Have you created a Tech Link with MOTU Support?

Yep that's more or less what I get in Mavericks:
21/08/2014 22:39:41.000 kernel[0]: IOAudioStream[0xffffff804f056000]::clipIfNecessary() - Error: attempting to clip to a position more than one buffer ahead of last clip position (1f1,64c)->(1f5,c8).

I did try to open a Tech Link with MOTU but as my Traveler was bought used I was unable to register it with MOTU and thus unable to open a Tech Link referencing the Traveler. I did send them a email about it ages ago but never got any reply.

In Yosemite when I got a similar dropout I got a different message:
25/10/2014 14:56:40.100 mds[32]: (Volume.Error:577) vsd:0x7fe92d05f000 Open failed. failureCount:1 {
DisabledRecycleCount = 1;
}

jliechty, if you are able to open a Tech Link on this I am happy to provide any info.

You can call MOTU sales and have them change the registration on your hardware or call tech support and maybe they can do it.

Now why didn't I think of that!

Done, and Tech Link regarding audio dropout with Traveler submitted!

Ah it's all so easy when you know how:-)

I got a reply from MOTU today, they are aware of the audio dropouts with the IOAudioStream error and are working on it. So hopefully it will get fixed.

Just found a MAJOR issue with Yosemite that will preclude me from using it on my MacBook for live shows:

Hi!

First post here.
I opened a support ticket for this a few months as well but still nothing more than "we are aware of this and no fix yet". :banghead:
