Help with Input Monitoring issue / double triggering sample

Post by andrewsolomon »

Hi,
I am terribly frustrated and will try to articulate issue. I think there is a simple fix but I can't figure it out. I am running Logic Pro X through my 828 MKii. Something is wrong where I play an external MIDI piano for example and the piano sounds choked like its double triggering a sample or audio is overlaying and I am getting two audio signals. I believe there is a setting wrong with my MOTU 828 mkii. Perhaps it's Cue Mix but I am keeping all the sliders on the Cue Mix board down.

I am running this through a new mac mini dual core, 4gb ram. Don't think it's anything to do with that either but giving background. Keyboard is Roland Fantom X7 and local is turned off. Piano and other keyboard sounds are definitely sounding choked as if its a polyphony issue but that is not the case because there are no MIDI notes recorded yet. So it comes back to this doubling I believe.

Any thoughts welcome.

Regards,
Andrew

Is File>Mix 1 Returns Computer Output checked in CueMix? This might possibly cause a doubling, depending on your Logic settings. This could account for audio doubling, but not MIDI doubling. If it is a MIDI problem CueMix would not account for it. Snoize.com's MIDI monitor (don't have the link handy) might help you track it down.
