HELP!! Ultralite / USB / droput / no sound

Post by tomascoox »

Hello,

Yesterday, it happened. That one thing which can not happen.

Big stage. Big crowd. Famous swedish artist. Slow ballad with only artist and me on piano AND fat backtrack.

Right before first chorus. ZIP!!! And then no sound. Band had to jump in and do a stripped down version of the song. Baaaad....baad....bad.

Not a good day in my career. :(

Here's what the console spits out when this disaster happened.

Hi,

i am having the exact same issue with a 828x. I bet you are on Mavericks, aren't you ?.....
Bad news, according to Motu support, the only way is to downgrade to 10.8.
Which is not an option for me.
Motu support tells me to contact apple support, but come on.... my RME UCX and my Presonus FP10 are just working perfectly.
Did you contact the support ? The more "complaints" they have, the more likely they'll fix it quickly...

Hello,

I'm on a downgraded (10.8.5) machine now since a couple o' weeks and can't be happier.

Furthermore, this problem has finally been aknowledged by MOTU and they are working with Apple to solve it. I hope it will be part of a new MOTU-firmware for Yosemite.

I had to downgrade because that was the only way I could go out gigging without being totally terrified onstage.

Cheers,
Tomas

Yeah, that's a shame...
btw, downgrading implies a fresh install, doesn't it ?

Yep, formatted system-drive and clean fresh 10.8.5 install. Then installing all that I needed fresh. 10.8.5 feels snappier too. I'm just…happy and can concentrate on what I should concentrate on. :)
