896mk3 hangs in Bootloader 1.01

It's a firewire unit.
Could it be a battery ?
I saw this lately pop up at boot more often, a restart helped,
but now after a restart 'CPU not valid update firmware' pops up
It's a unit that Motu replaced last year...

Anyone knows if there is a battery inside ?
