828 mk1 and ADA8000...proper settings?

Im trying to set up a small home rig,separate from my recording business. Something i can use to record ideas but not feel I'm "at work"

DP 4.61 ibook G4, 828 mk1 and now adding ADA8000. connected via adat. I cant get signal to record through the ADA. I've tried (i believe) every combination of master/slave internal/built in audio I can think of.

My REAL rig (DP 4.61 G5, Black lion modded mkII, mk1 and alesis AI-3) works flawlessly with only the adat connections to the alesis. I bought the ADA used and I wounder if it's fried.

Does anyone run the mk1 and ADA8000 specifically? Love to know what you have everything set to. Perhaps my lightpipes are just cheap? I dunno.

ok. I feel stupid. The lightpipe connections were not snug. No driver issue. No nothing. Sorry to waste the general forum's time. On to better things.

Done many nice recordings with Yamaha01V hooked to 828mk1 thru Adat.
Now, I've turned to the dark side with a Behringer X-32 rack, though.

Do you also have 8 more outputs coming from the ada8000? I've tried all setups possible with no success

Tried Mk1 as master, ada8000 as master, clock internal or adat, changed the cables but no audio coming from the ada8000 outputs. Using adat cable from the ada8000 in to the ada8000 out works tho, so I guess the ada8000 outputs are working.

Do I need a motu time interface or something like that?
