Same problem with a 1st gen Traveler. I'm going to fill out a techlink now.

Perhaps this thread belongs in the "MOTU Hardware Mac OSX" forum...Admin?...James?

Let's pretend I have a life and sometimes I might have been out of town. :) I'll move it now. I haven't installed 10.9.2 yet? Is there a PCI versus Firewire interface correlation here perhaps?

Yep... I went ahead and updated to 10.9.2 using the combo updater and had the same thing happen to me:

Oh yeah... and it enabled every input and output! Yipes! :)

ADDENDUM:
Fortunately, I have an RTF file with a list of my inputs and outputs and once I set things back correctly, it looks like things are okay again. Yeesh...

From my "In Progress" TechLink:

"Thanks for passing this along. We have found the same issue on several of our units after the 10.9.2 update. 10.9.2 included several changes in Core Audio. I cannot say at this point if the fix lies in a MOTU driver update, or if this is out of our hands at the moment, (in that Core Audio's changes inhibit this feature).

I will update you as we learn more. Let me know if there is any more info to pass along."

Thanks for that. I will see if affects my functionality this weekend. I only engage my 828mkII while tracking in my studio. Otherwise I edit and mix through Core Audio. Since my setup is simple, I'm hoping that it works - if not, I'm in the same boat looking for a fix.

Since this affects the current mkIII as well as earlier interfaces, MOTU does need to address it. I just hope that they can.

It's not like the PCIe-TB issue where no manufacturer has released a solution and maybe none will.

Well good thing for me is I had an RTF file that was just printed documentation of my setup and after I enabled the correct ins and outs, all was well. I still can't designate the default input and output pair anymore however. Fortunately, when I assign system audio to the PCI-424, it's going out the correct output pair.

That's what I am hoping for, too.

SL lacked functionality that I now consider critical for my work. I would never go back on purpose.

I can't remember if this was the case before 10.9.2, but Audio MIDI Setup - Audio Devices - Configure Speakers seems to have usurped the functions formerly available in MOTU Audio Setup.
