Cue-mix OSC documentation

Post by dhjdhj »

I would like to be able to control cue mix from my MIDI hardware. The good news is that I use Max to run my live rig and Max has great support for OSC. That means it woud be trivial to have Max receive MIDI messages and then generate OSC packets to send to cue mix. But I woud really like to not spend time reverse engineering the MOTU implementation. Has umm, anyone else done this, or know from where I could get good docs to save time?

As far as I know there's no docs on it yet, but you could open the template of your interface in TouchOSC Editor and find the commands there. According to tech support there's currently no way of accessing a fader/button/command directly. One needs to assign stuff in banks of eight and use the channel/ bank switches to switch between channels and mix busses.

I would have loved the option to access i.e. bus 2, channel 24 directly, but atm it's not possible. Or at least not in a good working way.

OSCulator is a good bet for sniffing commands that are hidden, like mute and solo buttons. It also is an invaluable piece of MIDI/OSC translating software.
Owns a 828MKIII, 8M AVB and DP7.24 + loads of non-significant stuff.

Thanks. I did set up Max to receive and display incoming OSC messages so I can see what they did. It's just a painful way to figure it out
