BCF talking to CueMix, but it only seems to control Mix1
Yes this is a problem isn't it!
There are so many buttons on the BCF that are un-used, and yet you can't change mixes.
I wonder if it's different using a real mackie console?

This is correct.
In INPUT mode you can control all your channels 1-8, 9-16, 17-24 as above,
BUT ONLY THEIR VOLUME GOING TO BUS 1.

Then in output mode each fader contols an output bus,
slider 2 = bus 1 master volume.
slider 2 = bus 2 master volume etc.

But you cannot control the 24 channel faders going to bus two, or to bus 3 and so on.
There is simply no way to select different busses when controlling the inputs.

So for a live gig, if bus 1 = FOH and bus 2 = foldback,
you can control say all the FOH channel volumes individually, OR all the output master volumes (eg FOH, foldback etc) but to control say the channel volumes for Foldback you need to use the screen.
this is same whether in baby hui mode or mackie emulation mode.

Also there is a bug so that if you adjust a volume level, then swith to input/output mode, then switch back to the other mode, the sliders can sometimes revert back to what they were before you changed them, as if the BCF2000 is remembering what it was set at before you changed modes, and it overrides the cuemix setting. potentially disasterous.

eg you decrease channel 1 volume,
switch to output mode and increase the master volume,
switch back to input mode, and channel 1 reverts back up to the volume it was at.

So I hope it gets some better software drivers. Will motu ever make native Behringer drivers? I don't know. I hope so.

Thanks a lot Wayne !
This is serving me to make the decision 'not' to buy bcf2000s...
I opened a MotU techlink ... we'll see
If someone knows what other hui gear works as should, please
chime in

Take care

thanks for that tip wayne. my unit does have that curious bug-fader 1 seems to always go back to about 20% when changing modes. annoying. i did manage to get it to change mixes in input mode. when you first enter input mode, you can press on the the buttons above the faders to change from mix1 to another mix. a bit cumbersome, and the fader 1 thing, but at least a step in the right direction. thanks again.

Ah, mixes can be addressed...
Sorry to ask,
could you give a more detailed instructions , can you have on 1 bcf :
Faders addressed to different mixes ?
How to do this with multiple bcf ?

( MotU didn't reply to my techlink yet )

Thanks

Wow I would never have worked that one out - thanks.

You need to hold down one of the buttons above the faders while you switch from output mode to input mode and it will switch all the faders to control that mix.

So I'm thinking to have a simple setup that avoids switching modes during a performance you'd need:

1 bcf to control outputs
1 bcf for each mix you want to control

The 'left fader goes back to 20% when you switch from output back to input" bug also happens in Mackie Control mode I just confirmed this.

This is what the BCF does when it is not under the control of whatever softare or device you use it with. It always drifts back to zero. If it is controlling a fader on a DAW, it will not move unless you move the DAW fader.

I'm probably not getting anything out of the MotU techlink...
I recently spoke to a tech - re: another problem -
and after this phone, the bcf2000 techlink was deleted...
Reminds me of Apple deleting threads

agreed

BTW
I explored with 1 bcf2000 and have some results:
I have working :

CH Vol
CH mute
CH solo
CH phase flip
OUT vol
OUT select
OUT mute

BCF2000 In MC C
Mac MIDI setup : Mackie Control Expander

Basically refering to the Behringer 'emulation modes' pdf, the 'shift + flip'
buttons are used, or the 'shift' only.
Wonder if I find out more later,
now out for a gig that is mixed via touchscreen and Cuemix FX

( Todd Wolfe Band )

Best to all

YEs Claus I have all that working too.

I just bought a second BCF-2000 and tried daisychaining it into the first via MIDI - didn't work. WEll it worked but it just mirrored all the settings on the first - cuemix sees them both as one mixer.

If however you plug them each into USB, cuemix sees them as two, so you can set one on inputs and one to outputs - very nice.

As well as what you've mentioned, panning works too.

I have a USB extender now, so I am up mixing up the back 20m from the stage with my wifi powerbook screensharing with a second powerbook, and the two behringer BCF's via USB extender, all controlling the MOTU which is up on stage.

Pretty happy with it.
When the AC-7 works on cuemix, then it will be the perfect setup.
Because not only do I need touchpad control like you do, I need remote touchpad control.

If I understand the help in Cuemix FX correctly, you have to define group and group position...
Please report back, since I don't own 2 BCF2000

Klaus

PS
I'm using a 'Mackie Control Expander' in Audio MIDI setup as MIDI device...
