Help ! The main volume knob on my Ultralite mk1 just snapped off, and now I can't even power it on. It powered on once after the break (by inserting the broken button back in its place and pushing), but now it won't turn on at all.

Tested with FireWire connected to computer as well as with a power source plugged into the wall.

Any ideas ?? Is there any other way to power on without using the button ?

Most such devices, if on when the power goes off, need to be restarted after power is restored so using a power strip for on/off won't work. Your could never turn it off but that seems to not be an option anymore.

In earlier posts you'll see the part number and where to order it. Unfortunately, it's no longer available. It's possible another unit has superseded it or can be adapted. If you're not up to the task, any decent tech should be able to see if it can be done.

If it's critical to your work, probably time to replace it with something newer and put this on the list of things to be repaired someday. Never hurts to have a backup.
