I have to admit... this is probably among the best $50 I've ever spent.

Glad I hung onto my old GPO4 and did the upgrade. If you're interested in GPO5, please don't pay too much attention to any very negative reviews...especially from sites where people bow down and pray to a certain renowned library.

There are plenty of superb things to say about this version, and it'll certainly 'fool most of the people most of the time'.

I dug up an old project and replaced the GPO4 sounds with the newer GPO5 sounds. What a difference!

Plus, the new convolution reverb samples are fantastic...as is the piano. That's worth the price alone, as stated in some positive reviews.

Really... it'll never replace some of the real pricey libraries for utmost realism if that's what you're looking for.

But, with the advantage of the ability to customize your reverbs, mess around with all the CC controllers, and with the new ability to create very realistic orchestral sections with the various 'Players' that are now included, a lot of people will be very surprised when they hear some new music and mixes done using GPO5.

It'll now be used for much, much, much more than hearing mockups of notation files and high school projects.

Bet on it.

Thanks for that. I was just about to ask whether anyone actually bought it and tried it out after all the negative comments before upgrading from V4. Like some others here, I was not impressed with the sample tracks they put on their site. They did not put their best foot forward.

Thanks for that review. I have GPO 4 and Miroslav 1.

Upgrading GPO for $50 seems like the prudent first step. I can always spend the $260–$800 to upgrade Miroslav later if I really want—or go in another direction if I desire.

That GPO is easy to use in Finale doesn't hurt.

I just checked AudioDeluxe and they are showing GPO 4 for $109 but not showing GPO 5 at all. Were I looking to get a new license and not upgrade, I'd certainly inquire if that's just old info. Perhaps they sell 5 for the same price.

No problem... it's an impressive package for the price.

The Garritan website has some good video reviews on it to check out.

Anyone looking for a 'step-up' from Garritan, but with a great price, should also check out the Kirk Hunter 'Diamond' orchestra package.

It will easily compete with the 'big boys'.

Again, it's beautiful to work with (like Garritan) because it doesn't have 'baked-in' room tone or reverb like some libraries do.

I went ahead and got the upgrade. I can't say it's the best $50 I ever spent -- that's for another forum, but it was well worth it. Just playing the samples on a keyboard I can hear a better more usable library. It still doesn't have the range and variations of more expensive libraries, but what it does, it does well, or at least better than V4.

Right... very usable stuff here.

The companies own demos don't do it justice, especially the Tchaik. 6th mockup. They should remove that one from their website!

Exactly what I thought. That's the demo that put me off upgrading until your post. The articulation is all wrong and some of the instruments sound like an old Roland synth.

I pulled the trigger and like what I hear so far. $50 well spent.

I also bought SampleTank Max for under $260 and got Miroslav 2 at no charge (good through August). I posted details in the Plugins sales sticky. New/Upgrade is the same price if you shop carefully.

I needed a harp library—nothing fancy—so I bought Garritan Harps ($67 at AudioDeluxe; $69 at Guitar Center/Musicians Friend) not knowing that there's a new Miroslav Harps library bundled as a separate download with Miroslav 2. Ah well...
