This is HUGE for me if so; I'll need to park a computer at Yosemite and eventually buy a separate computer for later OS's. I refuse to go subscription on stuff I use sporadically; it adds up fast. I won't even buy a product that is already subscription-based.
Totally agree. I WILL NOT do the subscription thing. I've pretty much resigned myself to Yosemite 10.10.5 for the life of my Mac days unless something drastic changes. It just doesn't make any sense.

No.

there are rumors that JRE6 will not run in OS 10.12. This will cause CS 5.1 to 6 to cease working along with the Chrome browser, MasterWriter 2 and a number of other applications. These same rumors were floating around for Mavericks and Yosemite. and turned out to be false.

We'll see...

Thanks, Mike -- now I remember those details. I should have asked at JavaOne a few weeks back if anyone knows anything about Adobe's plans. There is a back-door way to do this, but I can't talk about it here as it can legally only be done for testing purposes and not for commercial products.

Just got this e-mail:

Finale 2014.5 is Here!
We are very excited to announce that Finale 2014.5, a free update for owners of Finale 2014, is now available.

Finale 2014.5 incorporates new features, bug fixes, and modernization of Finale code, including many Mac-specific updates resulting in performance improvements and full compatibility with Apple's OS X El Capitan operating system.

"The breadth of this free update makes it feel more like a paid upgrade," said Mark Adler, MakeMusic notation product manager/senior editor. "It even works more like an upgrade, as it installs as a new application rather than changing your existing Finale 2014 installation. We're fortunate to be in a position where we can delight our customers with such a robust update at no charge."
