Well, it's being promised again. Maybe this time, really?

The Next Version of Finale
Mark Adler
Curious as to what’s on the horizon for Finale?
Since releasing Finale 2014.5 our developers have been focused on the next version of Finale. Their top priority is making Finale a 64-bit application. This will ensure that Finale remains compatible with future generations of operating systems, will provide performance enhancements, and will improve workflow for users of other 64-bit applications and sound libraries.
Other high priority tasks include optimizing the code base (cleaning up old code) and addressing technical debt; all of which will result in better performance and fewer issues between you and your music.
OK. Perhaps they really mean it this time.
Meanwhile, there have been some whacky deals going on. I've seen some recent crossgrade deals that are up to $50 less than upgrading from Finale 2012. They're still taking licenses for Encore, Composers Mosaic etc. to qualify. I took advantage of that when going to Finale 2014 rather than upgrade my Finale 2011 license.
And then there are some el-cheapo upgrades to convince us all to buy Sibelius 8.1.
Is it my imagination or are times tough in the notation software game? I find this weird since the current freeware and cheapware offerings are so inadequate for the working professional—it's not like there is something inexpensive and good out there.

Wake me when it's ready.
Re: Finale 64bit: Maybe someday?
Yeah, really. I use Finale a lot, but it's annoying that development has been so sluggish.
