NEED!!! AVUSB 1.32 CHIP to MIDI timepiece

Post by radium78 »

Hi.

I need avusb v 1.32 chip to my MIDI timepiece.

If you are mac user and you have 1.32 chip on you device. Can we trade? I give my avusb 1.31 to you and you send avusb 1.32 to me? V 1.31 Works only mac's and 1.32 works in PC (and mac). After this your device works like before.

Or if you have avusb 1.32 chip to sell.

I can pay everything afcourse.

Please, help me

Not likely. That chip was updated to 1.32 before the firmware was updated to 2.0.1 which is required for the MTP AV USB to work with a Mac.

That chip and the v.2.0.1 firmware were sold as an upgrade pair through the middle of May, 2012. I bought one of the last sets that month to update mine. When I went to replace them, mine had the 1.32 chip already so I sold my spare (other MOTU interfaces needed the firmware chip only).

The only way to get one now is to find an MTP AV USB with both. If the firmware chip is 2.0.1, the other chip should be 1.32.

On eBay, I notice that those sellers with the current chips advertise this; the rest pretend the issue doesn't exist. You might get lucky and find a non-working unit with both chips — could happen.

I no longer use mine.

Yep. Major buyer beware situation. It bugs me when sellers feign ignorance about this stuff.

Damn.

The MicroExpress USB and others of that series just need the 2.0.1 to be compatible. It’s only the MTP AV USB that needs both.

Yea, one option is. If I got one for copy the flash and then just tranfer code to enpty eprom. I have all what needed to do this operation. After cloning send eprom back. After this I can do chips who needed.

Postage to Romania or Croatia is just under $100 for a flat rate box. I’d rather sell my unit that has both chips.

No one local to me has ever asked or I would consider loaning mine. That, however, has never happened.
