Micro Express blues!

Post by trickysr »

I bought a Micro Express years ago and now I decided to use it. All I want to do is send sysex messages to different keyboards. I was up till 4am trying to figure it out but I cannot get it to work. The memory protects are off on the keyboard and when I send a sysex I see the lights go solid on the ME, but nothing is being sent. I think I got it set up wrong somehow. Im normally good at this. How can I set up the Micro Express to assign a MIDI channel per keyboard so I can send different sysex messages to different keyboards? I know I have to route MIDI channels to different boards but I just do not get it

I know this is all basic stuff but that's where to start.

The unit will have some basic functionality just plugged in but, to do everything, it needs the current drivers. I like searchable .pdf files when troubleshooting—the manual is also found here.

There were three versions of the micro express but only the third (release in 2010) has updatable firmware. Here's where you check for that.
