MOTU 828 MK3 HYBRID NO SOUND - FAULT?

Post by KYE »

Hello there, im hoping someone may be able to help, really stuck.

I have had my 828mk3 for around a year now and has worked flawlessly up until now. Powered up my work station last night to work on a project and i can no longer get any sound at all from the device.

Checked all the obvious things, mute, master vol level, cables etc.

Windows seems to detect the device, and the status of it appears to be connected as normal.
I have checked the 'Sound' tab in windows, all the input and outputs of the motu are present with main out 1-2 selected as default device. All the standard onboard sound card/drivers etc are disabled, so just the motu as default device.

Also checked the motu audio console app, if i change the clock settings from 44.1 up to 192 the led on the front panel of the motu responds and illuminates, additionally it will respond to commands in cue mix.
Finally i tested a hardware synth through it and the meters show a signal on the input channel but will not send anything through the output.
My guess is that the preamp as died perhaps as it seems to communicate with the computer OK..?

I am running windows 10 and the device is connected Via USB2.

I have checked the USB cable and swapped for another one.

Am i missing anything, or has anyone else has similar issues and been able to repair ?

Sorry for the long winded post, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!
