Ultralite mk3 to SVS PB-2000 Subwoofer?

Post by loveoldtrux »

Hi gang,

Interested in the SVS subwoofer for use with my Virtual Pipe Organ.... looking at the connections between the two; looks like some kind of an adapter would need to be used to connect the two. Is anybody else using an SVS subwoofer with the Ultralite? Love my Ultralite - worked 1st time and hasn't quit yet. Currently using it with 2 Truth B2031A speakers - sound GREAT!

Thanks for reading,
Mark

The quick and dirty answer is that you should be able to connect your powered speakers to a powered sub or passive speakers to a passive sub. The Ultralite doesn't matter.

Subs for studio work have the connections you need and can be configured with or without a monitor controller. If the one you are looking at doesn't have what you need, plenty of others do.

I bought this for my daughter

You can spend thousands for a studio sub but here are a few of the more popular units in the sub-$500 range. All have multiple connection options, built in crossovers for the sub plus low pass filters for your monitors and phase reversal switches. Home entertainment subs often lack one or more of these important features.

Thanks Mike for the reply. Seems Motu-nation didn't give me an alert you had replied. After I posted my original message (didn't know you had replied), I ended up buying a great 1000W B-52 sub from Sweetwater.

Works really great with all the organs I send to it. Sweetwater also threw in a free TRS -> XLR cable and plugged it in to the MK3 with no fuss no muss.

Cheers,
Mark
