MOTU 1028 mkii - balanced vs unbalanced inputs

Hi all!

Just acquired a 1028 mkii and I am using it in standalone mode. I noticed that the back panel is marked as both balanced and unbalanced. Can the unit accept either type of input? I am hooking it up to a Soundtracks MR-24 console via the line in and direct out jacks, both of which are unbalanced.

Thanks for the help! Oh and if anyone has a manual, I would love to see it.
