Updating Firmware on Motu MIDI Express XT

Post by christof1971 »

Hi Everyone,

I have a Motu MIDI Express XT running on 64bit windows I have the lastest drivers however I have never been able to update the firmware I follow the instructions ie power on while pressing stripe but the updater never finds the Motu Express.

Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix

Thanks

It depends on the version of the unit you own

http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technot ... changelog/

NOTE: These firmware updates are only applicable to MIDI Express XT units that have a serial number starting with ‘MXT’. Units that have a serial number starting with ‘MEXT’ or ‘MXXTU’ cannot be updated.

Yes. The name is the same but specs have changed over the years.

I have a perfectly good Micro Express. It doesn't even look like the current model. Serial only, pretty much useless unless I had my old Beige G3 or equally old PC again (no thanks).

Nothing like perfectly good, great condition, completely obsolete gear, is there?
