AVB discovery can't find audio interfaces on win 8

Post by arvidtp »

Hi all,

I'm trying to control an Ultralite AVB remotely over a local network from a Windows 8 machine using the MOTU AVB web control app hosted by the ultralite. It works fine on other computers running other versions of windows, but on this machine it just opens a web browser window pointing to localhost:1280 (i think - it's not in front of me right now) that says "No Interfaces Found". Typing name-of-interface.local into a web browser also does not work on this machine like it does on others. However, I can access the MOTU AVB web control app on this machine by finding the Ultralite's IP address from my router and typing that into a web browser.

The ultralite is on my local ethernet network. The Mac version of the AVB discovery app works fine to find the interface, and I can also connect to and control it on several other computers (running OS X, windows XP and Windows 7) just by typing name-of-interface.local into a web browser. Just not on this Windows 8 machine.

Any ideas why this machine in particular or windows 8 in general might not work for this? I'm not very familiar with the control panels, etc in Windows 8, but the firewall and privacy settings seem like they would enable all the communication necessary.

thanks!
