Hello. I have the 828 mkii connected via ADAT optical in and out to another interface with a more stable driver for my PC, and I'm wondering if I can use that interface solely as a digital throughput box.
I have it working so that the 828 can do either A/D or D/A, but I don't know if it's possible to set it up so that the 828 is the sole source of conversion both ways as well as monitoring, such as when taking a digital track out of the DAW to get some analog outboard gear distortion and sending it right back in. (Re-amping and the like)
What I figure is that you can't send ADAT digital from the DAW through another ASIO interface to the 828, then send that signal to 828 analog outputs in a Cuemix bus, and then send the analog-effected signal back into 828 analog inputs within another Cuemix bus with an ADAT digital output back to the DAW.
Am I missing something obvious or is there a workaround?
