Can I use the 8pre as a slave with RME?

I wonder if anyone can give me an answer to this question?
I have just purchased an RME Fireface UFX USB & Firewire Audio Interface and wondered if I can use my MOTU 8Pre Audio inputs with it as a ADAT slave? My guess is no but I would love to be wrong! I don't want to just connect them in fear of causing any damage to either!
