Track 16 & Cubase 5 sample rate problems

Hi

I'm the proud owner of a motu track 16 but I've got a problem: when I go to audio console and I change the sample rate upper the 44.000 it's ok, but when I open Cubase 5 and try to set the project sample rate to 48.000 or more it says that there's a sync problem and the rate cannot be changed. I've tried to go to the cubase device panel to open Motu asio panel but it doesn't.

Any suggestion how to fix this problem?

What sample rate are you trying to work at? You can't mix them up like your post describes. If you are working in 48k you need to set both to 48k.

Well 48.000 or more it's not the problem. Obviously I work with a unique sample rate, but when i set the sample rate in the motu audio console everything's fine, when I open Cubase, it seemes it forces the track 16 to go back to 44.000.In fact when i try to modify the sample rate in the cubase project it doesn't work except for 44.000
