So I just bought an mkii from friend. I connected it to my Toshiba Qosmio's 4-pin firewire port and I'm getting huge latency spikes resulting in constant audio dropouts/complete halts, loud crackles, pops, and beeps. When I try to select it as an audio output in Ableton Live, it freezes up and I have to force quit. I've read that MOTUs only really get along with Texas Instruments FireWire Chipsets but could that account for the ridiculous amount of latency I'm getting? I figure there are other factors at play in addition to the chipset.
Computer specs:
Toshiba Qosmio X505
IntelCore i5 2.40GHz
8 GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit
I have the latest Drivers for the mkii (4.0.5.9198)
Firewire is O2 Micro International
Let me know if any more information is needed
